All you wanted to know about NEET 2012 exam date and details

National Eligibility cum Entrance test 2012 or the NEET is a medical entrance exam that is being conduction in the country and has a single entrance test for admission for the postgraduate medical admission and also for the super specialty courses admission.

Overview

The NEET 2012 will be conducted by the CBSE board and will take place simultaneously in the whole country and includes one syllabus for all states. Students preparing to enter in the medical field should be aware of the entrance exam that is going to take place in 2012. The national level exam will help students get enrolled in any top medical colleges across the country, which of course depends on the scoring of the students.

Syllabus for NEET 2012

The syllabus covers three main topics, like Physics, Chemistry and Biology. These 3 subjects are based on the syllabus of the 11th and the 12th standard only. All questions in the entrance exam will be covered from the topics that are being taught in these standards. The exam will take place in only two languages that is English and Hindi.

Eligibility

Students who wish to appear for the NEET entrance exam should have completed their 12th standard. The student should have PCM in his/her 12th standard as their subjects. Biology is also a compulsory subject to choose and is also included in the syllabus of NEET 2012.

Format of NEET 2012

This is first time that such a national level entrance exam in medical field is being taken up by the MCI. The exam comprises of 180 questions. It is said that there will be no negative marks for the answered questions. Biology comprises of 90 questions, Physics will have 45 questions and chemistry 45 questions. The time given to students to complete the test papers is 3 hours. It has a single response type MCQs pattern.

Notification date and application fee

The notification date declared is the last week of November 2011 and can be applied both offline and online. The application fees for the general category are Rs.1000 and for the reserved category Rs.800. the last application date is January 15th 2012 by 12.00 noon.

NEET 2012 exam date

The date has been set up for May 2012, which has to be confirmed as yet.
