Medical Profession is the most sought after and rewarding profession across the world, hence the entry into the profession also highly competitive. Indian doctors are one of most successful even in the Developed World. Unfortunately due to limited availability of seats many students are looking options available abroad.

 The options can be classified into two kinds.

• Medicine taught in some Islands near United States, wherein curriculum is based on US systems and Hospital clerical ship is done mostly in USA.  These are very Expensive Programs where the tuition fee would range about Rs. 45 Lakhs( 100,000 US Dollars).
• The second Kind are the Universities in China or Philippines where the tuition fee is economical starting from Rs. 7-8 Lakhs which is more affordable  by India Middle Class. This avenue has opened in 2004 with China using its excellent infrastructure started offering the Programs in English.

Medical Education can also be classified basically into 2 varieties across the World.

• UK based system is the one that is being practiced in India where 4.5 Years of Theoretical Medical Program is followed by 1 Year of Residency ( House Surgeon )  in the   Hospital before one allowed to Practice the Medical Profession.
• US based System consists of 3 Years of Pre Medicine followed by 4 years of Medicine (Called as Doctor Medicine).  During the DM program first 2 years are taught Theoretical Medical Sciences and 3^rd and 4^th years students are sent to Hospitals for Hospital rotation or Clerical ship.  This gets student a Medical Degree, but the student needs to Residency in the country where he wishes to practice. This 3 Years in USA and 1 year in case of India. The US system takes longer time to complete than UK oriented System.

Screening tests in Different countries :

• USLME in USA
• Canadian Board Exam in Canada
• PLAB in UK
• MCI Screening Test in India.

This means American student who studies Medicine India needs Clear USMLE and do a 3 year Residency in USA to Practice Medicine in USA. Vice Versa student if student who studied Medicine USA wishes to Practice in India needs to clear MCI screening Test and also do an Year Residency in India. The underlying factor in most cases is that the Medical College should be approved by WHO (World Health Organization)
