We all know the popular saying "Health is wealth" The word wealth originally derived from the old English word for being well.So according to the saying the welthiest thing you will ever own is good helth.Extreme richness doesn\'t do much good if health isn\'t good and one can\'t enjoy the richness.It means if health is good everything is good.With the good health we can be fit to think well and perform better.We may say that greatest wealth is health.Moreover sustainable improvement in health leads to an increase of human capital as a source of wealth.Effective health care is therefore essential in maintaining and improving the quality of life and economic growth.

Once we have to think how much time we are spending on our health.Our health is gradually diminishing by the growing civilization.Most of the reasons for unhealthy are the bad habits and mental stress.Now a day\'s stress is like a new disease which is  mostly the young generation is facing.With the desire of earning money within a short period of time,people are becoming working machines and earning the money at the cost of their health.They have to make up their work schedule in a way that they should be free from the stresses of civilization.Young adults who are physically active are less likely to smoke or consume alcohol and who engage in regular physical activity are in good physical condition to perform their daily tasks more easy,feel better and feel less tired.

Personal fitness plays a vital role in maintaining good health.It is an individual effort and desire to be the best one can be.The person who maintains fitness of their body will be in better shape,feels better about themselves have more energy and gain self confidence in their overall abilities.Evidence also shows that regular physical activity can prevent or reverse many life threatening illnesses.Many researches confirm that regular exercise helps in promoting good health.

The food choice we make can have an important impact on our health.Our intake of high calorie junk foods and snacks has also risen.The type of fat consumed appears to be more important than the amount of total fat.Saturated fats and trans fats should be avoided.Most of the transfats in our food - some 64% are created as byproducts of fat process called hydrogenation.By this most of the children are becoming the victims of obese.

The first step in the personal fitness is eating sensibly.Eating plenty of whole grains,fruits and vegetables supply vitamins,minerals and nutrients that are required by our body.We have to eat food in moderate portions.It means eating everything but in small portions.Proper food and lots of it can actually reduce the excess weight without feeling deprived and hungry all the time.A number of studies have demonstrated the importance of health benefits of eating fruits and vegetables.High intakes of these foods decrease the risk of many diseases.The health analysts estimate that every addition serving of fruits and vegetables per day there is a 5% reduction in the risk of lung cancer.
