Causes of Male Hair Loss

To do so, you will have to decide just how important your health is to you? If your health is important to you, then why skimp on the hair loss aspect of your health. DHT hair loss for many people is preventable, but you can’t wait until you have one foot in the grave before you start treatment.

Basically, hormones make hair follicles shrink, and when small enough, they cannot replace lost hairs. If your hair loss is characterized by a receding hairline and a bald patch on the top of the head, then you have male pattern baldness.

Male Pattern Baldness is Preventable

It is extremely important for you to know that male baldness is preventable if you start treating it when you first start noticing male hair loss. The longer you wait to treat it, the less hair you will be able to re-grow using the available male pattern baldness cures or treatments.

If you are experiencing a pattern male hair loss, you basically have 4 choices.

  1. You can “grin and bear it,” concentrating on your other good physical and mental qualities.
  2. You can decide to shave you entire head which is rather a popular “look,” even among younger full-headed men.

  4. You can have medical hair restoration (plastic surgery).

If you are experiencing excessive hair loss without common patterns, the causes are many and sometimes difficult to isolate.

Here are other common causes of significant male hair loss

  1. Poor Diet, especially lacking in protein and amino acids
  2. Surgery
  3. Diabetes
  4. Poor thyroid
  5. Certain Medications, most notably blood thinners, those to treat gout, some antidepressants, and most forms of chemotherapy
  6. Infections, usually fungal scalp infections
  7. Diseases such as lupus
  8. Psychological stressors: most commonly divorce, death, loss of job/income.

Many of the above-listed causes are temporary and/or treatable, and hair will return. In some instances, hair may return thinner then before.

You must decide how You feel about hair loss before making a choice to accept it for what it is (a degenerative process that affects a lot of men), or to investigate possible hair loss products or surgical treatments. If hair loss makes you “feel” older or less attractive, then you should seek treatment.
