How to map domain name to address

There are many rules for naming the syntax and also the delegation of authority for the domain name which includes the efficient, reliable, general purpose, distributed system for mapping the names to the addresses. Such kind of distribution is called as the distributed system of mapping system which is used to map the names with the addresses. This system is called as the distributed as the set of the servers which are operating at the multiple sites cooperatively solves the mapping problem. It’s efficient in the sense that most of the names can be mapped locally itself, only a few of them requires the internet traffic. This is for general purpose because it’s not restricted for the machine names. Hence it’s reliable as in this there is no single machine failure will prevent the system from operating correctly.

For mapping the names to addresses, the systems which are used are called as name servers. Basically, a name server is a server program which supplies name to address translation, mapping from the domain names to the IP addresses. The server software executes on a dedicated machine which is called as the name server. The client resolver is called as the name resolver, which is on the host machine that wants the name translation which uses one or more name servers when translating a name. In other words, when a machine wants a name translation, the client software is called as the name resolver which contacts the server software name server.

The root server is the highest level of the domain server which basically recognizes the top level domains consisting of the generic as well as the country domains. It also shows that which server is meant for translation of which type of domain which means that the root server knows about the .com server or the .edu server or the .in server etc. If someone types amitbhawani.com, firstly root server knows where the .com server is and then the server knows where the location of server of amitbhawani.com is and then domain name maps the address.
